Carrying out your GAME PLAN

What resources will you need to carry out your plan (media segments, reading, experts or colleagues, etc)?

Resources I need to carry out my plan include an instructional match. Instructional match ensures that students are being taught at the optimal instructional level, one that challenges them but provides enough success to keep these students confident and invested in learning.

Another resource I will need to make sure my plan is carried out is scaffolding. Providing scaffolding support to students as necessary will help them to master a new task or keep up with more advanced learners. Examples of scaffolding strategies include reducing the number of problems assigned to a student, permitting the student to use technological aids and using cooperative learning groups that pool the group's knowledge to complete assignments

What additional information do you need?

Additional information I need to make sure my plan is carried out includes performance feedback. Performance feedback makes sure that students who are mastering new academic skills have frequent opportunities to try these skills out with immediate corrective feedback and encouragement.

What steps have you been able to take so far?

Steps I have taken so far to make sure my Game Plan is carried out is monitoring performance. I monitor performance of my students to make sure students are advancing and my strategies are working.

  1. Performance feedback is so important! I can't list how many times my son has had a summative assessment that just ends with the result. I wish all students were required to re-do assignments until they were perfect! Closing that feedback loop is such a crucial aspect to learning.
