Are you finding the information and resources you need?
I am finding information and resources I need as of now. My main concern for further research is finding effective strategies for keeping students engaged during classroom instruction. Classroom engagement is one the most important tool when students are attempting to learn or grasp a specific objective during classroom instruction.
Do you need to modify your action plan?
I do need to modify my plan in a couple of ways. The first thing I need to modify about my plan is student learning. Under my goal section I need to include that another part of my goal is to make sure that my instruction is effective. Effective instruction include identifying similarities and differences, students summarizing and note taking, reinforcing effort and providing recognition, and homework and practice. Once I have included effective instruction into my goals under student learning, secondly as a part of my action plan I can use some of the strategies listed above during instruction to help achieve my goal.
What have you learned so far?
So far I have learned that in order for instruction to be effective the teacher must assign homework that requires practice, review and application of learning and give explicit feedback as to the accuracy of all homework. Teachers must also engaged students in long-term projects that involve testing and generating hypothesis. Lastly teachers must have students revise the linguistic and nonlinguistic representations of knowledge as they refine their understanding.
What new questions have arisen?
New questions that have arisen during the development of my game plan are
Will student be productive citizen after my game plan is put in place?
Do I have enough strategies to address all learning styles of students of todays time.?
